MERBEN - Merseyside Business Environment Network
MERBEN (Merseyside Business Environment Network) is a programme managed by Groundwork Environmental Business Services (ebs) and operated by a number of partners. It provides environmental and health & safety (EHS) support to small and medium sized businesses on Merseyside and is able to offer subsidised assistance with the help of the European Regional Development Fund through the Merseyside Objective One Programme.
Environmental, Health & Safety Review - An advisor can visit your company to undertake an Environmental, Health and Safety review of your existing practices and procedures. They will then compile a report advising on areas that require attention and implementation and outline the business support available.
Risk Assessment - We can arrange for a qualified practitioner to visit your premises and carry out a Risk Assessment to identify hazards in the workplace, the likelihood of those hazards causing harm and the steps required to eliminate or minimise the risks.
Resource Efficiency Programme - The initially free and then subsidised Resource Efficiency Programme aims to reduce your company’s impact on the environment by reducing waste production, energy consumption and water use – ultimately leading to significant cost savings.
EMS - There are numerous levels at which a business can choose to manage all environmental issues comprehensively and systematically. MERBEN can advise on the options and guide your business through the entire process of adopting an Environmental Management System, including ISO14001 and the new ‘stepwise’ BS8555 standard.
