Operation EDEN
Working in partnership for the social, economic, environmental and spiritual welfare of our planet
Operation EDEN is a community-based environmental programme that works to improve local neighbourhoods by bringing together people who care
about the social, economic, environmental and spiritual welfare of our planet.
It aims to demonstrate the work of faith communities as significant partners towards the development of sustainable environments to create areas where there is
greater understanding and tolerance of diversity
What we do
The multi-faith programme works within the geographical boundaries of the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool by supplying professional support, advice, training and
funding for community initiatives where faith groups are the key partners.
Special attention is given to projects that work with hard-to-reach groups that focus on sustainable development and social inclusion.
Operation EDEN projects are realised through the diverse partnership of volunteers from faith communities working with local residents and organisations that
care about the environment. Recent projects include:
- Furniture reuse
- Renewable energy technology demonstrations
- Undervalued land transformed for food-growing
- Environmental regeneration of green spaces
|
- Promotion of healthy eating
- Recycling
- Energy efficiency
- Eco-art
